Healing Field

These photos are from the Healing Field in Sandy City. They put up hundreds of these flags every year. I have been here before but never with my camera and tripod. As you walk onto this field and take a minute to think about what this field represents, you thank God that you live in this country where a flag, a symbol, has the power to heal. My heart goes out to all of the people who lost a loved one on that tragic day, and to the rest of the world whose heart's ached along with them. No, we will never forget.

That is beautiful. I'm glad that my own heart still sweels with pride whenever I see our flag!
That should be "swells" not "sweels"
What a great memorial! We have a service every year here. We are lucky to actually have 2 pieces of the trade center beams here (one for the city and one for the state at the fairgrounds.) I am amazed at the resiliency of people. People don't talk about the fear, but about what we can do to make things better.
Kirk, thank you for sharing such tender and beautifully stated thoughts. Dad and I have lumps in our throats and tears in our eyes as we too, feel the things you said. We too, thank God that we live in this amazing country. It's our hope and prayer that the people of America will realize how blessed they are and live up to the dreams and values of those who founded this great nation.
