West Virginia

This is my first time visiting West Virginia and so far I am very pleased. We are here for a wedding and to visit some of Susan's family. While the women have been out pampering themselves I have been wandering around with my camera. We are staying in Vienna which is right next to the city of Parkersburg. Neither city is very large. I drove into the downtown area of Parkersburg this morning and quickly found a parking spot. I love how there is so much character in the cities in the east. There are modern buildings, of course, but there is also so much more history in the buildings than what I am use to in Salt Lake. I love how the city is right next to the Ohio River. I walked through the city for a few hours and really enjoyed watching the city life as it passed me by. Read more...

Kirk I never get tired of looking at your photography. You have such an eye for seeing those little common place things and making them come alive beautifully in pictures! When's your first book coming out?

I think back to some of the pictures I took on my mission and can't help thinking that we'd never get you out of Europe...

Kirk! Matt gave me your website address and I just had to check it out. I love the work! Looks good!

Hopefully he and I can visit you, Susan, and the rest of the family in SLC soon.

Take care!

Thank you for the great comments.

Gretchen, I am glad that you enjoy my photos so much. One of Susan's friend told me one time that if I ever made it to Italy I would never leave. I hope to find out soon!

Meredith, Thank you for posting! I loved meeting you and Matt and enjoyed spending time with you. You guys are always welcome here.

Julie, Susan loves the comments too. West Virginia is very pretty, but it was really hot and muggy when we were there. I would love to back in the fall or spring and go hiking.

Kirk I am glad you had such a great time in West Virginia. We enjoyed having you visit even thought it was short. You need to come back in the fall...Ohio is beautiful in the fall and not as muggy. We love you both

Kirk, it was fun to see pictures and your comments about your trip. Sounds like you and Susan had a wonderful time. - There were so many times in Bulgaria that Dad and I commented on how much you would love photographing in tht amazing country. I agree with Gretchen that you are going to absolutely love visiting Europe some day. Good thing you've gone digital. You'll probably surpass my 30,000 pictures.
