Tibble Fork

We had an absolute blast last night on our ride down on Tibble Fork. Twelve guys showed up and it was a great group of guys. Good times. We barbecued after the ride and may have to do more of that. Good times and here are some more pics.

Prince William

We went over to my sisters house this evening for my nephews second birthday. He was absolutely adorable and was pretty excited about having a party. I don't know if he knew the party was for him or if he was excited because there were a lot of people there. Either way we all had a great time visiting, eating and celebrating Will's second birthday. Happy Birthday Will!

Stop Motion Video

I have seen a lot of stop motion videos lately. It seems to be the rage of photographers and motionpictures, meeting somewhere in between. This video was very well done and I love the nostalgic feel to the video. Plus, I like the song.

Monogrenade - Ce Soir (HD) from Monogrenade on Vimeo.

“Ce soir” is Montreal based band Monogrenade’s first music video. Directed by Christophe Collette, the video is entirely made in stop-motion.

Golfing and Fishing

A friend of mine and I made a weekend out of picking up his boat in Flaming Gorge. 54 holes in 24 hours and fishing the following day. Awesome weekend. Read more about it and see some of the photos here.

Fireworks

I have photographed fireworks dozens of times. This fourth of July I wasn't even really interested in photographing the fireworks. But then I got the idea to try something new. Why not try something a little more abstract and focus more on the lights and the patterns instead of trying to capture the classic firework tracers. I was initially inspired by a series of photos I saw in Banana Republic a few years ago. They had a series of out of focus light sources of different colors. Since then I have taken similar photos and for some reason they really appeal to me. Catching the different firework patterns was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed the result. Here's to seeing things differently.

Inspiration

I saw this building a few weeks ago and again yesterday when I was out
for a ride. What really fascinates me about this building is the
rusted metal siding! It is incredible. It looks old, but at the same
time very modern. It goes to show you that you can use a lot of
different materials as siding.

This building is part of the new commercial district in the Day Break
development in South Jordan. There are a number of interesting
buildings going up around this area and I am anxious for them to
remove the fences blocking these streets so I can get a closer look at
the other architecture.

Inspiration

Continuing along with some of my recent "Inspiration" posts... I was perusing a blog I follow on a regular basis, reading about the new Audi Q5 (which I really like) and came across this photo. Of course, the car is gorgeous, but it was all of the concrete which really got me. I love the smooth unstained floors. They are sealed and have a nice matte gloss to them. Not too ostentatious, but nice enough that it could be an ultra cool garage or some trendy showroom. I like how the walls almost match. Very cool space.
